If homework time ends in stress every evening, you are not alone. Many children with ADHD struggle to transition from school mode to home learning mode, especially when they are mentally tired.

Start with a predictable sequence: snack, decompression, movement, then study. This helps your child regulate before asking for concentration.

Use short work intervals. Try 12 to 20 minutes of focused work followed by a 3 to 5 minute break. A visual timer helps children see progress and lowers resistance.

Reduce task overload by splitting assignments into micro-steps. Instead of saying finish your worksheet, say complete questions 1 to 3 first. Small wins increase follow-through.

End with a quick success review. Ask what went better today than yesterday. This builds self-awareness and confidence, which matter as much as grades for long-term progress.
